When I think Amagansett I think Talkhouse and not style, but designer Jarlath Mellet is planning on changing that. His shop, in Amagansett since 2004, had his new JM93 Summer 2010 collection at a preview party this weekend. The collection contains his sophisticated and relaxed designs, perfect for that Amagansett girl – savvy, but not fussy.
Check out some of the pieces from the collection!
However, the clothes are not the only shining spot in his talents– the entire quaint namesake shop is filled with interiors designed by Jarlath as well. He takes influences from art, fashion, interiors, pop culture, and the like and turns them out in all sorts of mediums – from the cozy heathered wrap above to wallpaper! Favorites? Two chairs from the Yale library that were recently refinished. Subtle and sophisticated, two of my favorite things.

In addition to the fashion and the interiors, photographer Nicholas Routzen had an exhibition up – a lot of interesting stimulation in an Amagansett shop!
Like that Fashion for Passion black tank? It’s cute AND for a good cause – proceeds go to help children in arts and music ventures. Purchase one in the store the next time you’re in Amagansett. A perfect destination for a rainy shopping day – or a sunny one!
